Frequently asked questions
Do we need our own network for the stream?
Yes, in practice always. Hotel and conference guest Wi-Fi is shared with everyone in the building, and a full room connecting at once is the most common cause of stutter. We set up a dedicated line for the broadcast, with 4G/5G as backup if the venue loses connectivity. Unsure what the venue has? We check on a site visit before the event.
Can we send to Teams and YouTube at the same time?
Yes. The same production can go to several platforms in parallel — for example Teams for staff and YouTube for the public. What must be agreed in advance is whether the content should match everywhere, and who moderates questions where. Teams also requires someone in your organisation to create the meeting, since it lives in your Microsoft environment.
How long does streaming setup take?
A simple one-camera setup usually needs a couple of hours before start. Multi-camera with switching, graphics and hall audio often needs half a day, and we prefer access the evening before for early programmes. The order is always the same: power, network, signal, audio, video — then a run-through.
Can the recording be used afterwards?
Yes. We record locally in addition to streaming, so you have a clean file even if the network fails. You get a downloadable file, and we can trim pauses and do light post if it will be published.
